Use the Caves filter to view cave locations across Styx. Open a pin for the cave ID, grid cell, ore counts and other details. The filters below narrow large caves, water caves, or caves with deep ore before you leave the dropship.
Only Styx caves are listed here. For caves on every region, see Icarus cave locations.
Use the Deep Ore Veins filter to find possible deep mining ore deposit locations across the Styx map. There are 766 deep ore pins here — zoom in along your route and mark finds as you clear them.
There is no single best base for every Styx prospect. A good camp sits near what that run actually needs: nearby caves for ore and shelter, access to deep ore without a long haul, biome edges you can cross when weather or materials change, and travel routes that keep mission pins on a short loop instead of dead-end spurs.
A practical first pass on this map is to show caves and deep ore together, turn on the grid, then pick a cell that shortens those loops. If the operation lives in desert heat or arctic cold, bias the build toward that biome edge rather than the map center. After you mark mission objectives, check that the camp still sits on the way to them — not off to the side of every trip. For deep ore on every region, open the Icarus Deep Mining Ore Deposit Map.
Styx is one of the playable maps in Icarus — generally harder than Olympus — and it is split into 13 named regions across three biome types: Arctic (5), Desert (3) and Forest (5). Arctic high ground and ice flats punish cold prep; desert ridges and barrens swing the other way on heat and water; forest river valleys and wooded terraces are often the softer middle for early builds and travel.
Region names such as Ring Lake, The Great River, Dusty Barrens and The Wall are how missions and guides describe Styx locations. Use them with Show Grid to place a route on the A–P / 1–16 layout before you drop, then turn on caves, deep ore or missions for the stops along that path. The list below covers every Styx region — pair it with Icarus cave locations when you need concrete stops, not only a name.
Use the Missions filter to find important routes and progression points across Styx. There are 28 missions and 73 map markers here — open one to see where that run sits on the region.
Click a mission to show it on the map. Open a marker for the objective; turn other filters off if you only need mission points on your route. Some Styx operations also open shortcuts around world blockers in-game — mark those spots here before you drop. Some late-game missions pay Exotics outright — see Icarus Exotic Locations when the run is exotics-first.
Beyond caves and deep ore, the Styx map also marks exotic deposits, enzyme geysers and oil geysers. On this map: 69 exotic deposits, 23 enzyme geysers and 20 oil geysers. Toggle one filter at a time if the map gets crowded.
Jump to Olympus, Prometheus or Elysium when your prospect leaves Styx. Each map lets you show caves, deep ore and exotics the same way.

Styx is divided into thirteen regions across three biome types: Arctic, Desert and Forest. Names include Alpine Valley, Dusty Barrens, Ring Lake, The Great River and The Wall. Use Show Grid on the map to orient routes between regions while you plan a drop.
There is no single best base for every prospect. Useful camps usually sit near caves, deep ore routes and biome edges that match the mission. Turn on Caves and Deep Ore Veins together, then pick a grid cell that shortens travel without boxing you into one biome.
Yes. Styx is the second prospecting map, introduced with the Icarus: Styx Expansion. You need that content to drop into Styx prospects in-game; you can still explore this map page without owning the expansion.
