Icarus Cave Locations by Map

Every Icarus map has its own caves. The counts on each card show total caves, large or mega caves, water caves, and caves with deep ore. Jump the cave map to that region from here, or open the full map page when you also need deep ore, exotics and other locations on the same drop.

Olympus

Olympus Cave Locations

Caves found: 142Large / mega: 0With deep ore: 85Water: 116

Olympus is where many prospectors first learn Icarus cave locations. The region packs Forest, Desert and Arctic biomes, and caves sit along rocky ground, mountain shoulders and cliff lines rather than out in open flats. Switch the cave map to Olympus and leave Caves on to plot entrances before you drop.

Icarus cave locations on Olympus use in-game IDs such as R-17. Open a marker for the grid cell, cave size, ore counts and notes. Icarus caves on Olympus are dense enough that a short route plan — a few IDs along your path — beats wandering the ridgeline once the clock is running.

For an Olympus-only list with Large, Water and Deep Ore options, open the full Olympus map page. This cave map keeps the same markers so you can compare Olympus against Prometheus, Styx and Elysium without leaving the page.

Prometheus

Prometheus Cave Locations

Caves found: 237Large / mega: 0With deep ore: 170Water: 80

Prometheus has a large cave network from the New Frontiers region, so checking Icarus Prometheus map cave locations is a common stop before a long run. Switch to Prometheus to show cave entrances across the map, then open a marker for IDs such as B-32, grid cell and resource detail.

Icarus caves on Prometheus work well with Deep Ore and Exotic markers when you are chaining underground stops. Stay on this page to move between regions, or open the Prometheus map page for a Prometheus-only cave list and the other location types for that drop.

Styx

Styx Cave Locations

Caves found: 163Large / mega: 0With deep ore: 93Water: 128

Styx has its own cave network, including spots players treat as underwater or shoreline routes. Switch the cave map to Styx to show entrances, then use cave IDs and the grid to mark a path before you commit the drop.

Open a marker for size, ore counts and details such as water, the same way as on the other maps. For Styx missions, regions and every location type beside caves, continue on the Styx map page.

Elysium

Elysium Cave Locations

Caves found: 224Large / mega: 0With deep ore: 187Water: 92

The Elysium cave map covers entrances across the region so you can plan Icarus caves on Elysium the same way as on Olympus or Prometheus. Switch to Elysium above, keep Caves on, and open a marker for ID, grid and mining detail.

Use this page when you only need caves; open the Elysium map page when you also want missions and the wider set of locations for that drop.

How to Find Caves in Icarus

In open-world prospects, caves often sit near rocky outcrops, mountains and cliffs. Scan those landforms first, then confirm the entrance on the interactive map instead of combing every biome on foot. That mix of terrain sense and a clear cave map is how most players find caves in Icarus without burning the whole timer.

On this page, pick Olympus, Prometheus, Styx or Elysium above and leave Caves on. Search an in-game cave ID when you already have one, or a grid cell such as J7 when a guide or teammate gave you coordinates. Turn on Show Grid if you want the A–P / 1–16 layout while you move the cursor.

Open a marker for cave ID, map name, grid, coordinates, size, ore counts and details such as water. Mark it as found when you have cleared it so the next loop on the same prospect stays cleaner. If you need deep ore or exotic deposits next to caves, turn those options on for the same map, or use the location pages linked below.

Caves are resource and mining stops as much as landmarks. A short list of IDs along your route is usually enough: drop, hit the first entrance, then follow the next marker without backtracking across the whole region. When your prospect moves to another map, switch regions here rather than starting over from scratch.

Caves, Ore & Mining Locations

Cave locations help when you are planning resource and mining routes, not only when you need shelter. Many cave markers show ore or deep ore counts, so you can compare a nearby entrance against a pure deep-ore stop before you leave the dropship.

Use the cave map together with Deep Ore to skim mining spots around your path. This page stays focused on Icarus caves — for deep ore across every region, open the deep mining map instead. When the run is ore-first, compare with Icarus Exotic Locations so one trip covers shelter, drilling and extractor value.

Icarus Cave Locations FAQ

Where can I find caves in Icarus?+

Caves appear on all four Icarus maps: Olympus, Prometheus, Styx and Elysium. Open the cave map above, pick a region, and leave Caves turned on to show entrances. Each marker uses an in-game cave ID such as R-17 — search that ID or a grid cell like J7 to jump straight to it. Open a marker for size, ore counts and other details, or click any ID in the list under the map for the region you have selected.

Is there an Icarus cave locations map?+

Yes. This page is the Icarus cave locations map for every region in one place. Switch Olympus, Prometheus, Styx or Elysium above, keep Caves on, and turn on Show Grid for the A–P / 1–16 layout when you need coordinates. Each region also has its own full map page if you want caves beside deep ore, exotics and the rest of that drop — start with the Olympus map when that is where you are landing.

Where are caves on Olympus?+

Switch the cave map to Olympus and leave Caves on to show Olympus cave entrances across Forest, Desert and Arctic ground. Open a marker for the cave ID, grid cell, size and ore details, or click an ID in the list under the map. Olympus is where many players first hunt Icarus cave locations. For an Olympus-only cave list with Large, Water and Deep Ore options beside other location types, use the Icarus Olympus Map.

Where are caves on Prometheus?+

Switch the cave map to Prometheus to show Prometheus cave locations from the New Frontiers region. Markers use IDs such as B-32; open one for grid cell, size and resource detail, or pick an ID from the list under the map. On Prometheus it often helps to show Deep Ore or Exotics next to caves when you are chaining underground stops. The Icarus Prometheus Map keeps a Prometheus-only cave list if you are staying on that region for the whole prospect.

Do caves contain ore in Icarus?+

Many caves are useful mining and resource stops, not only landmarks. Cave markers often show ore counts, deep ore counts and details such as water, so you can compare a nearby entrance with a pure vein stop before you drop. Use Caves together with Deep Ore Veins on this map to skim a route, or open the Icarus Deep Mining Ore Deposit Map when you want deep ore across every region without staying on the cave page. Small exotic ore nodes can also turn up inside caves — for drillable deposits and extractor runs, see Icarus Exotic Locations.

Where are caves on Styx and Elysium?+

Switch the cave map to Styx or Elysium and leave Caves on to show entrances across that region, then open a marker for cave ID, grid cell, size and ore details. For a Styx-only cave list with missions and regions beside caves, use the Icarus Styx Map; for Elysium caves with missions, use the Icarus Elysium Map.
